So last Friday I stopped by the Patrick Mohr x K1X sneaker launch of the brand new MK5 with my girl Joeva (read her post here). Unlike last year’s party, its launch was celebrated in a small in-store event held at the Overkill Berlin store (Tipp: In need of unique, special edition or simply rad Sneakers? Stop by Overkill!) with limited access and early access to purchasing the highly limited Patrick Mohr x K1X MK5 sneakers which dropped midnight.
Until midnight Overkill provided us with drinks and some tunes by Berlin’s own Bassgang on the DJ sets. As expected, the store was packed with sneakerheads anxiously waiting for the clock to strike midnight so they’d finally be able to welcome the MK5s in their hands. I’ve never seen a crowd of boys so eager and impatient before. And they say girls and shoes are crazy.
Patrick Mohr himself was present to share a few words about the collaboration when the clock stroke 12 and the shoe was officially revealed.
I stayed until midnight, because I was doing a friend (->Mr. Fashionkilla ² aka Sir Jet-Setter) a favor. He too caught the MK5 fever.
As for me, I’m still mad – madly in love – with Patrick Mohr’s design.
The MK5 come in finest leather, black, red or white, and have a recurring theme of Patrick Mohr’s signature sign – triangles.
This is the third shoe Patrick Mohr has designed in collaboration that have made it unto my ultimate sneaker list – the red suede MK4, the black Reebok x Patrick Mohr sneakers and these MK5s in pure white.
