What does a fashion blogger do at a electronic trade show? It’s not that farfetched. After all I am a consumer and I consume goods. So I was here to check out the latest consumer goods that are of interest to me.
The reason I visited IFA in the first place was because BabyLiss invited me to come check out their newest products and for some hair styling. Since I’m having extension (however I still use the BabyLiss curling iron that I got at the Berlin Blogger Meet Up to curl my extensions every now and then. And it has worked well til now without burning my face of xD ) I asked Louisa my best friend to test the products for you.
Curl Secret. I can’t even explain this styling tool and you won’t believe or understand it until you see it for yourself. The Curl Secret C1000E curls your hair all by itself and automatically. It has a revolutionary technology and really does make the “perfect” curls. But it takes practice to master this device and get beautiful curls. I’m not a big fan of ridget curls but the good thing is you can brush them out for a more undefined messy look. See above: those curls on the blonde with the superlong hair were achieved with the Curl Secret C1000E. Looks amazing right?
Babyliss has a lot more products to offer, some of which aren’t new. I just wanted to show you my favourite styling pieces.
Straightener ipro 230 iCurl ST270E
You can achieve these kinda curls as seen on Louisa above with the Straightener ipro 230 iCurl ST270E due to the fact that the outer sides are also coated in a metal that heats up. What you do is you put your hair inside like your would be straightening it, but you turn the iron 180° and flip the strand over and pull it through (watch a How to make curls with a straightener tutorial on youtube to get what I mean). I’m really loving the beach wave effect. It’s so effortless and sexy. Beach waves are pretty much my favourite curls.
This product was Louisa’s favourite as well.
Straigthener ipro 230 steam
I personally like the straightener with vapour function. Because my natural hair is extremely curly and frizzy – the afro type – I need a looooot of time to straighten it even when it’s already relaxed (chemically straightened) and a straightener like this comes in extremely handy because of the vapour.
A drying comb like the Brush & Style 1000 is essential for me. But I’ve never gotten around to buy one after my old one broke. So anytime I wash my natural hair combing it afterwards when it’s dry is hell of a pain. I need to get one asap and this one seems pretty good. Brush & Style 1000 also comes with interchangeable combs in different sizes as well and another version Brush & Style 800 or 700.

Another reason for being at the IFA was that I actually had appointments at Marshall Headphones and Urbanears but no one seemed to bother. So I don’t really get the point of IFA. Is it for press or is it for the people? Finding Marshall Headphones and Urbanears was just a waist of time because no one cared to actually talk to me about the products. I didn’t see the point why I was there at all. So I headed to my Monster appointment after less than 2 minutes. Just like Babyliss, Monster was so different. I was lead through the collections and they had been expecting and took the time for me.
And what happend at Monster the following day you already read on my blog 🙂
Oh and by the way our future is all about big ass (taller than me) plasma screens and 3D. We’ll be wearing weird ass glasses from now on when watching a movie with our families at home…
That’s what I gathered from IFA. Samsung and LG and what not all have it envisioned for us.
Rest in Peace good eye sight.
